The Record smoothing plane number 02C is a smoothing plane which
is the smallest of the Record smoothing planes at 7 1/4 inch (18.4cm)
in length.
The 02C model is identical to the
Record 02 plane
with the
difference being the sole of the 02C is corrugated; a series of parallel
grooves running the length of the sole.
The plane is constructed from high grade cast iron with a crucible cast
tungsten steel cutter and a lever cap made with high grade cast iron
with a plated finish. The plane sported a Rosewood rear handle and front
knob.
The Record 02C plane was produced for a period of 10 years through the
1930's to the early 1940's until production stopped during World War II.
