This William Marples drawknife was one of a good selection of Marples drawknives
produced. This particular drawknife was referred to as a small drawknife
or gents drawknife.
The drawknife was fitted with two tall shaped Beech handles each with
double scribed parallel lines around the circumference of the centre
of the handles.
The drawknife handles were finished with brass ferrules at the base of the
handles and circualr brass caps on top of each handle.
The blade bore the markings
'Wm. Marples & Sons, Sheffield' with the Shamrock symbol above the
wording.
The cutting edge of the blade was approximately 6 inches long.
