Category: Old Hand Saws
Manufacturer: Tyzack
Tool Type: Hand Saw
Model No: 10
The Tyzack saw number 10 is a Beech handled hand saw with a steel
blade.
The saw handle has quite a decorative shape with more detail than
later Tyzack hand saw handles.
The handle is secured to the blade with the use of three brass buttons,
one of which is faced with a medallion marked 'Warranted Superior'.
Each button has a flat-head screwdriver slot on the reverse side to
allow for tightening and adjusting the screws, if required.
This particular saw was 24 inch long with 5 1/2 tpi (teeth per inch).
There were of course different length and different tpi saws produced.
Handle: Beech
Number Of Buttons: 3
Type Of Buttons: Brass
Medallion Markings: Warranted Superior
Blade Markings:
'W Tyzack, Sons & Turner, No. 10,
Sheffield, The Abbeydale Saw'
