Starrett Combination Square Review By: I.Ball
Category: Old Squares
Manufacturer: Starrett Co Ltd, Great Britain
Tool Type: Combination Square
Model No: 492
The Starrett combination square 492 has a sliding adjustable rule, a square
stock and angle setters.
The Starrett combi square has a square stock which also has a 45 degree
angle for mitre work, a spirit level bubble and a concealed marking pin.
The blade is marked out in inches up to 18 inches (there were probably
other sizes available). There are various increments in the measurement
markings depending on which edge you wish to use.
The rule is locked in place with the use of the locking pin by turning
the knurled nut/wheel(s) on the respective stock(s).
"Starrett Co Ltd, Great Britain, No 492" - found on the angle setter.
"Starrett Hardened" - found on attachment.

"Just stumbled across your website and an absolute treasure trove of information.
I was recently given an old Stanley 110 block plane and wanted to know more about it.
Your website told me everything I needed to know.
But there is so much more to read. I forsee me spending a lot of time just reading
page after page. I can appreciate how much time this will have taken to put together.
I just wanted to let you know that your hard work is appreciated."
