Stanley Level 39 1/2 Review By: I.Ball
Category: Old Levels
Manufacturer: Stanley
Tool Type: Level
Model No: 39 1/2
The Stanley level number 39 1/2 is referred to and classed as the Stanley
machinist level 39 1/2.
The Stanley 39 1/2 level is 150mm (6 inches) long.
The level has meshed machined sides to offer the user additional grip
when handling.
The level was originally finished with a nickel plate finish to give
the level a bright look and help prevent the tool from rusting.
This nickel plate is prone to flaking off over time through use and
neglect. It is not uncommon to find these levels with no nickel finish
present.
The Stanley 39 1/2 has a smaller sibling which is two inches shorter
at 4 inches in length and goes by a different model number, the Stanley
38 1/2 level.
