Stanley 39 Review By: I.Ball

Manufacturer: Stanley

Plane Type: Dado

Model No: 39

The Stanley dado plane number 39 is an old plane from the Stanley range of fillister, rabbet and dado planes.

The Stanley 39 was made from grey cast iron in a design which at a glance has a fairly similar look and feel to the Stanley 78 duplex rabbet and fillister plane.

The Stanley 39 is equipped with a rear handle, an adjustable depth stop, two spurs (the Stanley 78 only has one spur), and a skewed cutter which sits in a central mouth (the Stanley 78 has two mouths and doesn't have a skewed cutter).
