The Stanley Block Plane No. 9 1/2A is a 160mm (6 5/16") long adjustable
block plane with blade adjuster and an adjustable mouth.
The front knob and the blade adjuster knob are made from solid brass.
The plane sides have a circular depression.
The plane is finished with the usual Stanley black finish.
The plane is marked at the rear end of the left side '9 1/2 A', it is
marked 'Stanley' at the very rear of the plane. The lateral adjuster
is marked 'PATS PEND'.
The Stanley 9 1/2A is fitted with a 1 5/8" (41mm) wide blade. The cutter
is marked 'Stanley England No 9 1/2A/220A'.
This plane and the other Stanley 'A' model block planes we believe were
only produced for a few years in the 1980's.
