Stanley 66 Hand Beader Review By: I.Ball
Category: Old Beaders
Manufacturer: Stanley
Plane Type: Hand Beading Tool
Model No: 66
The Stanley hand beading tool number 66, also referred to as the Stanley
66 hand beader, Stanley 66 beading spokeshave and Stanley 66 beading
scraper.
The Stanley hand beader I believe in its earliest form was black in
colour with the markings 'Stanley No. 66' and 'Pat Feb-9-86'.
The Stanley 66 beader later went on to be made with a nickel plated
finish including in the era of 'SW' Sweetheart logo branded era.
The nickel plated version was marked 'Stanley No 66' on top near the
mouth.
The Stanley no. 66 was equipped with two fences and 8 cutters.
This combination allowed this tool to be used for beading, reeding, fluting and
very light routering work.
One of the fences/gauges allows the tool to be used for straight work and the other
allows the tool to be used for curved work.
The cutters were sharpened at both ends with the exception of the blank cutter which
was put in place to allow the user to file a profile as desired.
Toolnut.co.uk sell
replacement beading cutters for the Stanley 66.
