Sandvik 266 Saw Review By: I.Ball

Category: Old Hand Saws

Manufacturer: Sandvik
Tool Type: Hand Saw
Model No: 266 - Master Craftsman

The Sandvik Master Craftsman saw number 266 is a Swedish saw made with a Swedish steel blade and a sleek lined hardwood handle.

Swedish tool steel is regaded in similar high esteem as to Sheffield tool steel.

The 266 handle is secured to the blade with the use of four steel/alloy buttons including one which is faced with a 'Sandvik' medallion.

The buttons require a phillips screwdriver to adjust opposed to most UK / US saws which require a flat-head screwdriver (or split-nut screwdriver for older saws).

The Sandvik saw shown is 22 inches in length and has 10 teeth per inch (tpi). There were different lengthed and tpi versions of this saw produced.

The sleeve says 'Sandvik, 266, Made In Sweden, Master Craftsman', 'Traditional wood handle, Swedish quality steel, Skew back' and '9T = 10P, 22" = 550mm'
