The Rapier plough plane number 3 is equivalent to the Record 043, it
is sometimes referred to as number 43.
The plane is used to make small rebates and to cut grooves. The grooves
created can be used for the insertion of panels, glass etc. or for
simple sliding doors. The plane cuts across end grain as well as with
or along the grain.
The Rapier 3 has an adjustable depth stop, two arms and a bridged fence
which can be used left handed or right handed.
The plane was supplied in a red box. The Rapier logo on the box shows
a sword through the word 'Rapier'.
