Model No: 1397
The Edward Preston router number 1397.
This distinctive router has two hardwood knobs, a router cutter and a frame with three windows cut from central positions of the frames body.
The purpose of these windows were to offer improved visuals of the piece of timber being worked as well as offering a distinctive aesthetics which was part of the Edward Preston tools brand.
The cutter is secured in place with the use of a simple locking screw.
At first glance there appears to be the one basic cutter placement.
In fact there are three placements; each of the bulbous wooden knobs can be removed which in turn creates a new cutter position and a new position for the knob.
These extra cutter positions offers the capability of getting in close to corners.
