This Veritas Miniature Spokeshave discusses the Veritas Miniature Spokeshave
produced by Veritas Tools of Canada.
The Veritas Miniature Spokeshave forms part of the ever-growing Veritas
miniature tool range.
The miniature tools are ideal for model makers and any work that requires
intricate, detailed work.
The miniatures are also popular amongst collectors, there is something
about miniatures that captures people's hearts. I have been to tool
shows in the past and seen people buy these miniatures just because
they have been amazed by them.
The Veritas Miniature Spokeshave is made with investment-cast stainless steel and
hardwood handles which are similar looking to Bubinga; they are advertised as hardwood
handles, the Veritas tools used to be made with Bubinga.
The spokeshave is made with a low-profile body (9/16" tall) has a 45 degree blade
bed and a tight fixed mouth opening.
This small spokeshave weighs in at just under 1oz and has a diminutive length of
3 1/2" (90mm) which is 1/3 scale of the
Veritas Flat Spokeshave.
The Veritas Miniature Spokeshave is fitted with a 19mm (3/4") wide, 1.6mm (1/16")
thick, A2 steel blade which is hardened to Rc60-62.
Supplied in a hard, black, embossed, fitted, leatherette case which is packaged
in a Veritas cardboard box.
Made by Veritas Tools of Canada.
