Pax Flush Cutting Saw Review By: I.Ball
Category: New Special Saws
Manufacturer: Thomas Flinn & Co.
Tool Type: Flush Cutting Saw
Model No:
The Pax Flush Cutting Saw is manufactured by Thomas Flinn & Co. of
Sheffield, England.
This saw has a flexible alloy steel blade with a high number of teeth
which have been given no set, the combination of this setup makes this
a good saw for flush cutting work such as cutting dowels flush with
the workpiece.
The resulting cut from this saw is smooth due to the high number of
teeth and because the teeth have no set it should result in there being
no scratches to the workpiece.
This saw is designed to cut on the pull-stroke.
The Pax Flush Cutting Saw has a small, detailed Pax etching on the saw blade.
The saw blade has a small partial brass mirror polished spine which offers strength
and tension at the handle end of the blade while allowing the blade to flex through
the rest of the blade.
The length of the blade is 152mm (6"), with 20tpi (teeth per inch).
The Pax Flush Cutting Saws are fiited with a Walnut handle which is finished with
a brass ferrule.
This Pax saw forms part of the extensive range of Pax saws which includes the Pax
Dovetail Saw, Pax Tenon Saw, Pax Hand Saw, Pax Gents Saw and a number of specialist
saws such as the Pax Guitar Saw.
Usually supplied in a blister packet.
