Lynx Dovetail Saw - Walnut Handle

The Verdict
Lynx Dovetail Saw Review By: I.Ball
Category: New Dovetail Saws
Manufacturer: Thomas Flinn & Co.
Tool Type: Dovetail Saw
Model No: Walnut Handle
The Lynx walnut handled dovetail saw review covers the Lynx saw made
by Thomas Flinn & Co of Sheffield, England.
This Lynx saw has a real good look and feel about it due in part to
the saw being fitted with an American black walnut handle which is secured
to blade with the use of three old-style brass split-nuts which sit
flush with the handle.
The Lynx walnut handled dovetail saw is only made in one size:
- 8 inch

The alloy spring steel blade has a depth of 58mm (2 1/4 inches).
These saws are made with a choice of two teeth type:
- Rip
- Crosscut
The rip teeth are specialised for cutting with the grain and the crosscut teeth
are specialised for cutting across the grain.
These saws have 20 tpi (teeth per inch), with teeth which can be resharpened repeatedly
for a long life.
The saw blade has a large etching of the Lynx brand which adds to the beauty of
the saw.
The saw blades have a weighted brass back spine which offers extra control,
tension and purchase while offering an added attractive appearance.

The American walnut handled Lynx dovetail saw has a beautiful mirror finished brass
back spine.
The Lynx walnut dovetail saws are almost identical to the E.T. Roberts & Lee
Dorchester dovetail saw design with the main difference being the etching on the
blade.
The saws are presented in a brown cardboard 'Lynx Saws' presentation box with green
writing.
