This review is about the German made, Kunz 65 chamfer shave.
The number 65 Kunz chamfer shave is a 270mm (10 1/2 inch) long specialist
spokeshave for quickly and easily creating chamfers.
The Kunz 65 has two adjustable fences located underneath the arms.
The fences are quickly adjusted by releasing and securing the thumb
screws on top of the shave arms.
The fences allow any through or stopped chamfer to be produced and
repeated evenly and uniformly.
The arms are straight with meshed grips for extra grip and control.
The ends of the handles have circular holes cut through them to form
a convenient way to hang the tool on a hook.
The tool is fitted with a 38mm (1 1/2 inch) wide cutter. The chamfer cutter is manually
placed in position by hand and then locked in place with the use of the lever cap.
The lever cap is loosened / secured by turning the lever cap securing screw.
The chamfer shave is finished in the bright green finish with a bright red lever
cap.
The Kunz 65 chamfer tool is Kunz's version of the Stanley 65 chamfer shave, the
Record A65 chamfer shave
and the Edward Preston 89 chamfer shave.
The shave is made to almost exactly the same design with the
the main difference being colour and markings.
