The Marples 9 C mortice gauge has a Rosewood head and stem with functional
and decorative brass parts built-in.
The head is secured and released with a brass knurled nut.
The 9 C marking and mortice gauge has one sharp marking pin at the rear for single
line markings and two pins at the front of the gauge for dual line markings such
as for marking mortices.
The distance between the two pins can be adjusted to the required distance by pushing/pulling
the brass knob on the stem to slide the pin to the required distance.
