Category: Old Marking Gauges
Manufacturer: Marples
Tool Type: Marking Gauge
Model No: M2050
***** There appears to have been different designs under the same model number
- in the 1976-1977 Record Ridgway catalogue this model is shown as beech with a plastic thumbscrew *****
The Marples mortice gauge number M-2050 is made from rosewood
with two brass inlaid strips on the surface of the head and with a
knurled brass securing nut for locking the head in the desired position.
The head on one side has a Marples logo with the name 'Marples' within
an oval, along with the words below the oval as 'Sheffield England, M2050'.
The marking gauge has one marking pin.

"Just stumbled across your website and an absolute treasure trove of information.
I was recently given an old Stanley 110 block plane and wanted to know more about it.
Your website told me everything I needed to know.
But there is so much more to read. I forsee me spending a lot of time just reading
page after page. I can appreciate how much time this will have taken to put together.
I just wanted to let you know that your hard work is appreciated."
