This John Rabone And Sons small caliper rule weighs in at 3 inches long.
The rule is not marked with a model number so we have given it the reference
number 'caliper 1'.
This caliper rule is made from boxwood and fitted with a brass caliper
rule and brass edge fittings.
The boxwood part of the rule is marked out in inches with 1/8 inch
increments on the front side. The rear side is marked out on one edge in
inches with 1/16 inch increments, the other edge is marked out in
inches with 1/8 inch increments.
The sliding brass caliper rule is marked with measurements in inches
with various incremental measurements.
The caliper feature is ideal for measuring the thickness of on an object;
traditionally rope or wire.
