A Ashton Saw Review By: I.Ball

Category: Old Hand Saws

Manufacturer: A Ashton & Sons Ltd
Tool Type: Hand Saw
Model No: "Sharp Tooth"

This Sheffield made old A Ashton hand saw is fitted with a Beech handle and a carbon steel blade.

This old Ashton saw is known as the Ashton "Sharp Tooth" saw.

This saw boasted a super etching with the core of the design revolving around a picture of a tooth surounded by the wording "Sharp Tooth" with the obvious play to the teeth of the saw.

The blade is secured to the handle with the use of 5 brass buttons (there was almost certainly a medallion present originally).
