This Thomas Flinn dovetail saw is a brass backed dovetail saw.

The brass back spine gives the blade strength, the saw additional weight and the saw a decorative property.

This Thomas Flinn saw is fitted with a Beech open handle. The handle is secured to the blade with the use of two round head screws.

The left face of the brass back is marked with the markings 'Thomas Flinn & Co, Sheffield, Eng, Special, Quality'.

This particular saw is 10 inches in length and has 13 teeth per inch (tpi). There were different lengthed and tpi versions of this saw produced.
