Rabone Chesterman 1912 Square Review By: I.Ball
Category: Old Squares
Manufacturer: Rabone Chesterman
Tool Type: Square
Model No: 1912
The Rabone Chesterman square number 1912 is a combination square with a sliding,
adjustable rule.
The blade is marked out in inches up to 12 inches (there were probably
other sizes available). There are various increments in the measurement
markings depending on which edge you wish to use.
These include inch
measurements which are broken down further into 1/8", 1/16" and 1/32"
increments on one edge and centimeters broken down into millimeters
on the opposite edge. The measurements are on both side of the rule.
The rule is locked in place with the use of the locking pin by turning
the knurled nut/wheel.
The solid, heavy stock has an inbuilt level bubble and marking pin
which slots in the heel of the stock.
The stock can be used for marking 45 and 90 degree angles.
"Rabone Chesterman" - found on the face of the rule.
"No 1912" - found on the face of the rule.
