This Veritas Miniature Edge Trimming Plane review looks at the plane
made by Veritas Tools of Canada.
The Veritas Miniature Edge Plane is a small scaled down version of the Veritas Edge Plane with the miniature version being only 2 3/8" long, weighing in at 1.6oz.
Ideal for delicate, detailed work such as model making and musical instrument making, in particular useful for fine trimming work on thin pieces of work up to 3/8" thick.
The Veritas Miniature Edge Plane is constructed from investment-cast stainless steel fitted with a 1/2" (13mm) wide, 1.5mm thick, A2 steel blade which is skewed at 30 degrees.
This blade has a 25 degree bevel which is set on a low-angle 12 degree bed which
gives a 37 degree cutting angle.
The positioning of the blade including the depth of cut is set by hand.
Supplied in a hard, black, embossed, fitted, leatherette case which is packaged in a Veritas cardboard box.
