Pax Guitar Saw Review By: I.Ball
Category: New Special Saws
Manufacturer: Thomas Flinn & Co.
Tool Type: Guitar Saw
Model No:
The Pax guitar saw is an ideal saw for cutting guitar frets / musical
instrument frets, the saw is also referred to as a fret saw though not
to be confused with the most common type of fret saw which is similar
to a coping saw.
The saw blade has two holes drilled through it to allow the option of
a depth gauge to be used.
The saw blade is 10 inches long with 17 teeth per inch (tpi).
The Pax guitar has a mirror polished brass spine with a solid Walnut
shaped handle which is finished with a brass ferrule.
In the past these saws had been made with Rosewood handles. The change
from Rosewood handles to Walnut handles occurred in 2017.
The saw blade is etched with the Pax logo, a nice touch which gives this saw extra
class.
The hand sharpened teeth on this saw can be resharpened again and again using a
triangular shaped metal file.
The Pax guitar saw is made in Sheffield, England by the specialist saw manufacturer
Thomas Flinn & Co.
Usually supplied in a brown coloured blister packet.
