Plane Type: Block
Model No: 102
This Kunz plane review is a review about the Kunz apron block plane
no. 102, also referred to as the Kunz 102 block plane.
The Kunz Apron Plane No.102 is a small block plane with similarities to the
old Stanley 102 Plane
and the
old Record 0102 Plane.
The Kunz 102 plane is made from stress relieved, fine grey cast iron
and fitted with a quality tool steel blade which has been hardened to
62 Rockwell HRC.
The Kunz 102 plane has the Kunz green finish with a contrast red lever
cap.
This little plane sits comfortably in the hand. It is a handly little plane in the
toolkit for small planing jobs.
The Kunz 102 is equipped with an in-built short finger pad front knob to offer the
user more control when planing.
The blade depth is adjusted by manually setting the blade in the desired position
and then locking the blade in place by securing the lever cap.
Usually supplied in a clear plastic box.
* Important: please refer to the 'disclaimer' at the foot of this review.
* Wearing safety clothing and eye protection is usually a good idea to help protect against injury.
- The blade(s)/cutter(s) is very sharp, take suitable precautions when using/handling/storing
the plane/cutter(s) to prevent injury.
- Failure to loosen parts when making adjustments to the plane can result in damage
to the plane such as cross-threading screw threads. Never force a part to move.
- Overtightening parts can cause damage to the plane and the plane threads.
