This Kunz 100 Plane review is a review about the Kunz Block Plane No. 100, also referred to as the Kunz Squirrel Tail Plane.

The Kunz Squirrel Tail Plane No.100 is a handy little plane used for smaller delicate work, used for small trimming work, for making chamers.

This miniature plane has a flat sole and a tail handle which fits comfortably in the hand.

The tail handle on the plane has traditionally been likened to a squirrel tail as such this plane type is sometimes referred to as a 'Squirrel Tail Plane'.

The Kunz 100 plane is made from stress relieved, fine grey cast iron and fitted with a quality tool steel blade which has been hardened to 62 Rockwell HRC.

The Kunz 100 plane has the Kunz green finish with a contrast red lever cap.

The Kunz 100 is equipped with an in-built short finger pad front knob to offer the user more control when planing.

The plane is marked '100' at the front of the plane.

The Kunz Squirrel Tail Plane No.100 is similar to the old Stanley 100 Plane.

This type of plane and the Stanley 100 was traditionally referred to as a model makers plane, violin makers plane or a pattern makers plane as these were the core trades which used this type of plane.
