This Eclipse Coping Saw review covers the Coping Saw made by Eclipse.
The Eclipse Coping Saw is a traditional Coping Saw which is ideal for
small, fine curved woodwork.
The Eclipse Coping Saw has a C-shaped / D-shaped metal frame with a
comfortable wooden handle made from Beech.
The frame has been given a dark blue finish and is marked 'Eclipse'.
The Eclipse Coping Saw comes with a 14 TPI spring steel blade as standard.
The teeth are precision milled for longer life and improved cutting accuracy.
Additional replacement Coping Saw blades can be purchased including finer 24 TPI
blades.
The blades should be inserted in the saw frame with the teeth facing back towards
the handle allowing the saw to cut on pull stroke / back stroke.
The blade can be rotated a full 360 degrees by turning the wooden handle to adjust
the blade orientation. This feature offers greater flexibility and access when making
a cut.
If used carefully this saw should be able to cut suitable wood up 75mm (3") in thickness.
It should be noted the greater pressure / more difficult the wood then the more
likely the blade may snap or buckle given the thinness of the blade.
As with any use of tools it is wise to wear suitable protective clothing including
eye protection.
Eclipse have a history of making the Eclipse Coping Saw for many years now and is
a regular tool in a toolkit.
Supplied in a cardboard and plastic blister packet.
