rule.
The 1494 rule is marked in inches up to 24 inch long.
Three of the faces are marked in 1/8 inch increments. One of the faces
are marked in 1/16 inch increments.
"No 1494" - found on the face of the rule.
"J.Rabone & Sons, Birmingham, made in England" - found on the face of the rule.

As brass is quite a soft metal and the face are not thick pieces of brass, the rule can be prone to bending if it has had a hard life.
