Footprint Drill 150 Review By: I.Ball

Category: Old Drills

Manufacturer: Footprint

Tool Type: Combination Hand Drill

Model No: 150

The Footprint Hand Drill No.150 also referred to as the Footprint Combination Hand Or Breast Drill No. 150 is an old Footprint Drill which is a combination of a hand drill and a breast drill.

The Footprint Hand Drill No. 150 was officially listed and advertised as the 'Footprint Combination Hand Or Breast Drill No. 150'.

The drill is equipped with a breast drill handle to help with steadying and then a hand drill handle set unusually at an angle.

The combination of this two handle feature was advertised by Footprint at the time as 'Unique Two Position Feature'.

The Footprint Hand Drill No. 150 was a hand drill with a look and similar colour scheme to a mix of the most common Stanley hand drills with the one main exception, the Footprint 150 had a distinctive additional angled handle.

This Footprint drill had a similar colour scheme to Stanley hand drills such as the Stanley 803 drill.

It has a combination of red, maroon, black, chrome and silver colours which includes a red gear wheel face and maroon handle and knobs with some chromium plated parts.

Both the breast handle and the hand drill handle have Footprint trade label stickers with the 'Footprint Brand' logo.

The 'Footprint Brand' trade labels are gold coloured and marked 'Thos. R. Eliin (Footprint Works) Ltd, Est 1880, Sheffield, England' as well as 'Footprint Brand' within a red footprint.

The drill chuck has a 5/16" capacity.

This drill was presented in a colourful, funky red and orange diagonally striped cardboard box which featured a picture of the tool and various branding and advertising details.

Some of the markings on the box included:

'Footprint Brand', 'No. 150 Combination Hand Or Breast Drill', 'by Thos. R. Eliin (Footprint Works) Ltd, Sheffield, England',

The drill came apart to fit neatly into a box which was quite a box shorter than the drill.

The box advertises this tool as 'Footprint Combination Hand Or Breast Drill No. 150'.

This Footprint 150 drill was made in Sheffield.
