Chesterman 92 Set Review By: I.Ball
Category: Old Squares
Manufacturer: Chesterman / Rabone Chesterman Ltd
Tool Type: Combination Set
Model No: 92
The Chesterman number 92 is a combination set from the
extensive Chesterman measuring tool range.
The tool has a multi-purpose design which is where it gets its name,
combination set.
The tool consists of a cast iron stock, a rule, a locking pin, a protactor
attachment and a 45 degree angle attachment.
The stock is designed for comfortable and easy grip, it is designed
with 45 degree and 90 degree square profiles, it is designed to
allow the rule to slide through it and it is designed to house the locking
pin which secures and releases the sliding rule.
This Chesterman 92 combination square set was supplied with Chesterman
rule No.80.
The Chesterman 80 rule is marked out in inches on both
sides of the rule.
The measurements are further broken down into micro
increments of 1/8 inch, 1/16 inch, 1/32 inch and 1/64 inch.
This particular square had a 12 inch rule. I believe this square was
made with other length rules.
The combination square stock boasts a level along with the 92 protactor
attachment.
The box says the Chesterman 92 Combination Set was made by Rabone Chesterman
Ltd, Sheffield, England with everything branded on the tool parts and the box
as Chesterman.
