This lovely Totenham Court Road, London, England old Buck hand saw was fitted with an elegant, decorative shaped Beech handle and a nibbed blade.

The handle and the blade are locked together with the use of 3 brass split-nut buttons.

The brass buttons have a special split-nut screwdriver slot on the reverse side of the handle. This allows the user to tighten or unscrew the buttons as required.

The saw handle has a flat underside. This Buck saw was made in the Victorian era / 19th century.

The saw shown in the photo had a 26 inch long blade with a 7 tpi (teeth per inch) blade. Other sizes of this saw were produced.
