Record Fore Plane - No. 06C

The Record fore plane number 06C model is identical to the Record 06 plane with the difference being the sole of the 06C is corrugated; a series of parallel grooves running the length of the sole.

The 'C' in the model number '06C' stands for 'corrugated'.

The idea behind the corrugated plane is the sole has less friction when planing, particularly as the board becomes true. The smoothness of the planing can be improved further by lubricating the sole with oil/wax etc.
